Have you ever wanted a wood fired gaiwan but aren't trying to break open your piggy bank or sell your other kidney?
While it is no wood ash the glossy white and blue glaze mixed with the orange rough glaze really make this cup feel like you are getting a much more expensive piece of teaware.

I really like this gaiwan. The glaze does have a little bit of texture to it, so be warned if that triggers your OCD. For me I lake that texture quite a bit because it helps to grip the lid. It looks phenomenal as well, and it is easy to hold and pour.
One thing of note is that mine is actually about 135-140 mL This is larger than my typical session size. I was able to figure out where the 105 mL mark would be so I can work around this, but if you are specifically looking for a smaller vessel this might not be the best fit for you.
This Gaiwan looks and feels great. Mine came in closer to 110ml. Pours good and the rim is wide enough to prevent burning. Gets you most of the way to a wood fired-esque unique piece at a fraction of the price!

This is a beautiful piece. Seems a little bigger than 105 ml though (not a problem for me but good to know) and from the picture I expected it to be a little more thick/sturdy than it is so it’s not as good at retaining heat as I hoped. I just wish it had a saucer so it wouldn’t burn my fingers. With a saucer this is a full 5 stars.
