Technical Nerdy Stuff
One of the most striking things from living in China,
was seeing,
just how much being able to speak the language,
taught you about the culture.
There is a color qing (青 | qīng) that can only be clunkily translated as blue or green.
Now, by this point you are probably wondering why is he talking about speaking Chinese and a weird color that doesn't translate?
Fair enough.
The color is thought similarly to the rolling and everchanging color of distant mountain ranges like in the famous painting 1000 Miles of Rivers and Mountains (it's like China's Great Wave painting).
I promise I'm getting there.
The crackling ruyao(Laugh Lines) and celedon(Drip, Fine Celadon) glazes in Chinese pottery often times symbolically represent this subtle but distinct piece of Chinese culture.
These Jade Lotus pots have this soft, matte, semi translucent glaze that doesn't technically count as a ruyao or celadon but very much gives those feels.
If you're looking for an essential pot that will teach you something about pots with it's smooth pour, great balance, and really satisfying easy to load lid, this pot will definitely fit your fancy...
Fit your fancy? (Definitely, been reading too much Harry Potter with the kids).

I like this pot for a wide mouth, and it is very pretty. The top is a little tricky to fit but all good.
