While the apprentices are making the lid, attaching the spout and handle, and boring out holes to make the filter...
...these are definitely not the same as a half-handmade Yixing pot, where each piece is still individually patted and slab-built.
Half-hand is a bit of a misnomer. So whether you want to call this mold-made or half-handmade, it performs between a molded and a fully handmade pot.
A great first step into handmade teapots.
Great little pot it has good effect on astringent teas like sheng and greens you can fit more than expected in this pot by looking at it has good pour good for chaozhou brewing
My first tea pot. Very happy with it, great size for solo sessions, pours well, easy to load and clean, lid fit is tight and it stays in place when pouring, great first pot.
Dart was super helpful and patient with questions I had, a pleasure to deal with.
I’m pretty thoroughly enjoying it. It has some quirks which is to be expected with something thats been touched by an actual person but it makes good tea. Or I make good tea? Some combination of the two, I think. Regardless, Tao Teaware is a fantastic company and I will continue to order from them for many years to come. Customer service is unbelievable.
This is the first clay pot I have gotten and it has been great. It has a good effect on the teas I have tried I it, is easy to pour, and looks great. I will definitely be ordering more from here.
Works well for my hands. I use the thumb and middle finger on the handle, pointer on the lid. Love the size and shape. I brew dancong oolong with this teapot
