The Copper Trifecta is hard to ignore. Three jagged protrusions jut out from the form, giving it an otherworldly presence in the hand. Streaks of copper tear through the rocky brown surface, flashing against the matte texture like veins of metal revealed in cooled lava. It feels volcanic, raw, and alive — a bowl that looks like it was pulled from the earth rather than made in a studio.
Andrew calls these “sculptural matcha bowls.”
At first, I didn’t get it — teaware has always been about function for me. But after his time in Japan, he began blending his love for sculpture with the daily ritual of matcha.
That vision gave birth to pieces like this: bowls that whisk beautifully, but also stand on their own as objects of art.
For me, they’ve become just as satisfying to display around the house as they are to use — something that makes me smile in passing, and grounds me every time I sit down for a bowl of matcha.
