These are almost impossible to capture in a photo... almost.
The purple glaze shifts with the light and from piece to piece sometimes leaning more blue, sometimes more red but always subtle, always alive.
In classic Mark Mohler fashion these have his hyper functional style with a common giveaway in his pots... oversized lid handles. No chance of burned fingers, even when the pot is hot from a long session.
Each one carries the small variations from Mark throwing “off the hump”, giving them a natural individuality. They’re all kin, but no two are the same.
And of course it wouldn't be a Sanguine Teapot if it wasn't made from Mark’s own single-source Lizella clay, dug in his home state of Georgia, and finished with a purple glaze created exclusively for Tao Teaware.
This gaiwan feels as personal as it gets.
