This barrel-top teapot almost feels like a gaiwan for ease of adding dry leaves and cleaning out the wet ones.
Short, stout, and curvy its a pot that really gets us excited about the Nixing teaware coming out of Qinzhou. It has a unique look that we don’t often find in other teaware cities.
Not entirely onyx, the lid button and rim have been burnished to a chocolate shine giving this piece lovely accents.
We love these side-pickup lids for teapots, combined with that wide opening it’s a pot made for those large of leaf teas that could crowd a smaller teapot.

What a beautiful pot. The straight walls and wide opening are convenient for so many leaf types. The lid fit is superb. The spout with its little pooch makes pouring a pleasure. Little bit large for the traditionalist, but unobtrusively satisfying in a solo session.
Incredible pot, the package came smashed and obviously manhandled by shipping despite all the labels, but was packaged so well the pot remained completely intact.
Very practical and perfect as a "daily driver" type of pot to use for different teas, since the nixing clay doesnt season quite as much as something like zhuni.
If you are looking for a handmade pot that is affordable, has a wide top, is easy to use and nice to look at, this one checks all the boxes. This pot is thin walled and surprisingly light, and is super easy to clean for the next tea. Pours fast or slow (determined by your pour angle) with easy one hand handling. One cool thing is the many holed, effective wall filter, which works great.
