Mark doesn’t really do “easy.”
If you needed proof, here it is...
the design on this towel,
a hand-painted gaiwan,
that
was brushed using the tail of a groundhog his dog Ah-hua caught. Classic Mark. Always finding the most difficult, most handmade way possible.
This towel is being dropped with the first official collaboration with him, and a simple, affordable memento of that moment.
We’ve always loved tea towels for how they fit into a pared-down tea setup — something both Mark and Tao Teaware share in common.
Practical, humble, but personal.
And if you’ve ever ordered a teapot straight from Mark, you’ll know he draws in sharpie on the box with a picture of your pot before shipping it off.
This towel carries that same spirit — a little piece of his hand, his humor, and his craft.
Hey, if this tea towel caught your eye, you should go check out Mark directly. He’s the one behind the design, and supporting artists firsthand really matters. You can find him on Instagram @sanguineteapots or over at www.sanguineteapots.com.
If you like this piece, go give Jonathan some love directly. He makes incredible work… and occasionally is too busy with making to open the online shop. Maybe this is the encouragement he needs. You can find him on Instagram @jonathansteele.studio or over at www.jonathansteele.studio.

Tea Towel
I went with the cosmic rabbit and I love him so much. I never realized how much my experience could be elevated with such a little addition to my space. I want the 1000 Miles one to come back in stock so. freaking. bad.
Works great, love the print
Love these towels, only wish they were a bit bigger. They are super absorbent and dry quickly. Only improvement would be is that I would prefer a larger square over the rectangle or perhaps a longer and larger one to use as a full mat.
I love these little towls! They absorbed more tea then I would of ever expected and work great for drying my tea pots. Also the graphics on them are so beautiful in person I keep one on display every time a brew!
