You know Harry Potter, in charms class, they talk about the "swish and flick" for the levitation spell Wingardium Leviosa?
Which they then later use in the movie to knock out a troll by dropping his own club on his head...
Well either way, this pot is like that.
Meaning the flick when you pour is quintessential(ooh quintessential, channeling my inner Hermione) to the Muffin Top's pouring experience.
It may in fact be the only pot that we have ever held that has actually felt more balanced when pouring than it does when you pick it up.
With a proper flick feeling ever so satisfying, the ergonomics of this pot just makes you want to keep flicking, one steep after another.
And for those of you, because I know there are some out there that are wondering about the lid... it's on purpose.
You aren't supposed to pick it up by the cone on top, but from the side of the lid (which is Dart's favorite type of lid [not that anyone asked]).

This little guy is really good looking! The rougher clay suits it well. Handling it is not weird at all,it's basically like a Japanese Kyusu. The only downside is at the same a huge plus: The brim of the lid. On one hand the long brim keeps the lid in place no matter how you tilt the pot, on the other it is basically not possible to put the lid on without water shooting out of the spout. If you like "dry" Gongfu Cha, you should consider that. All in all a beautiful pot 😊
The Muffin Top teapot is a delight to use. It pours smoothly, feels comfortable and balanced in the hand, and has a charming, playful presence. A quality teapot, it makes each tea session feel just a little more special.
Wow, I opened the box and was not prepared for just how small this pot is! (I mean that in a good way as I love solo pots). I guess I expect pots in the kyusu style to be on the large side, but I should have known, since it was 90ml. But how fun it this pot? It handles easy, pours well and is, basically, a joy to use for a solo gonfu session.
Absolutely everything that I have received from Tao Teaware has been top notch! The Muffin Top is such a great tea pot!
In comparing this to the Apple Pie lid type I like how this one sits better. The lit also seems more hearty like I won't break it by breathing on it wrong. This is a solid improvement in my opinion over the Apple Pie.
