Not every piece makes it to the grand finale and gets to be a star on the website... but they still deserve a home too.
Each of these boxes will come with more in value than what you pay.
How much more exactly?
- $40 box = more than $60 value
- $60 box = more than $100 value
Of course with the returning tradition,
there are plus(+) boxes at each tier that we will swap in every several orders.
For the $40+ box the swap will be one of our apprentice pots from Master Kemin's studio the Muffin Top or one of Andrew's matcha bowls.
and for the $60+ box the swap in will be one of our favorite (and most expensive) Chaozhou pots, the Sunken Treasure... and maybe we'll toss in another Yixing pot or two this year too.
Good Luck and Happy Mystery days.
Potential Items include:

- gaiwan

Here are some examples from this Mystery Box release.

With my mystery box order I got a nice tea knife, a smallish gaiwan, and a travel set including a triangular gaiwan-ish thing and two matching cups. This is an incredible value, and if you don't mind rolling the dice it is well worth the chance. You can never have too much teaware :)
I paid $59.99 for a Mistery Box, I received a + box and received the handmade Chaozhou pot called Sunken Treasure, which is worth $244.99. I still can't believe it. The risk was worth it. I know it's random, but still thankful that I got it!
Got two $60 boxes in hopes of upping my chances of getting a teapot or one of the + boxes. The first box was great and honestly more than I expected. A rad tea pick (I’ve been meaning to get a new one so it was a nice surprise), a sweet gaiwan, pitcher, some cups, and a tea towel. All rad, all get used almost daily right now, great value, much happy. The second box was a little disappointing. Another gaiwan and a weird triangular nesting travel set. The gaiwan is beautiful. It’s honestly probably one of my favorites in my collection. The travel set unfortunately will most likely never see any use. Just not really my cup of tea (pun unfortunately intended). Overall I’m happy, just wish I had played it safe and stuck with one box instead of two.
The $40 mystery box was great! I received a couple of tea cups (both beautiful), a ruyao glazed gaiwan, a dragon tea towel, tea pick, and a sample assortment of teas. Only thing preventing it from being a full 5 stars is that the gaiwan lid came with a slight chip in the knob on the top. Doesn’t seem to effect its functionality, but was disappointed that it arrived broken.
Overall, great value.
the teapot I got is not on the website. And it feels like it is a sample they received and decided not to carry on the site. The teapot smells horrid. After several rinses with hot water and trying to make tea with it the smell isn’t going away. The tea i made in it has taken on a strange taste too.
As someone who has purchased from TT often along my tea journey, I’m pretty disappointed. It really does feel like I wasted $70
