While it's not secret that all teapots from Chaozhou end up being around 100ml and use a really iron heavy clay(giving it the red color), it still amazes me when one stands out so far among the rest.
Even with other pots from Zhang Studio like Wukong's Gourd, Chonk, Whalesong and Sweet Heart. There just seems to be something special that resonates with us about this pot.
The gooseneck (or lotus leaf in Chinese) spout is playful and not the purest function forward spout... after all if you were looking for pure laminar function, a stub spout like the one on Hammered would be your best bet.
But there are just enough things that make this pot different with the well executed top seated lid, elegant connection from the handle to the body, satisfying squished looking body, with the ever so enjoyable(and tactile) groggy da hong pao clay... that add up to make it a beauty and favorite of the pots coming out of Chaozhou.

Fast shipping, stunning teapot.
Already have a few Chaozhou pieces, I think this may be my new favorite. Love the overall shape, the clay has a fantastic texture to it that feels great in hand. Handles very well and comfortably. Surprisingly nice pour for the unusually shaped spout.
The lid fit is great, perhaps a little too great.. it doesn't leak at all and fits very snug but when I initially got the teapot I couldn't remove the lid lol, after gently heating and cooling with some boiling water I was able to remove it and now there are no issues.
I was sorry to miss this teapot when it first came through and barely got one on the restock (is what I think happened, anyway). And I'm so glad I did. This pot has such a lovely shape and intoxicating pour. The lid construction is particular and the fit is hella satisfying. So far just dabbled in some dancong with it, but gonna let it stretch its wings and see what it likes. Really great piece.
I love this teapot. I have been using it for shou puerh and it works well with it. The wide opening is great to add and remove tea from. It pours with ease and grace. Looks absolutely fantastic. I favor smaller volume teapots and I am glad to have one with such a cool shape like this.
Fantastic little pot, and beautifully packaged for delivery. It arrived safe and fast with a few bonus tea testers included. Will definitely buy from tao teaware again :)
