Thumb Scents

Crafted by Andrew Sartorious, these incense burners lean into the raw, unrefined side of the kiln. Surfaces are left rough, edges honest with each piece shaped as much by flame and ash as by hand.

Fired in an anagama, the glazes move unpredictably, pooling, flashing, and breaking in ways that can’t be replicated. No two are the same. What you’re seeing is the record of the firing itself and the interaction between clay, ash, and heat.

They also give a good idea of Andrew's other surfaces.  

They weren’t made for this release, but sent along as a gift and it felt right to pass that on.
